This has been particularly important over the last few years due to the pressures of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has represented a watershed moment for the industry. It has demonstrated the need for greater efficiency and reliability to bring medicines to market faster, something that is now paramount.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Pharmaceutical manufacturing is a complex process that focuses on reducing supply chain disruption, increasing batch capacity, and reducing batch losses. There are a variety of factors that can negatively affect a pharmaceutical company's ability to ensure the supply of finished products. This includes equipment failures due to changing operating conditions and the impact on process health, which can result in costly production losses and supply disruptions. So how can pharmaceutical manufacturers prevent this and improve plant process efficiency?<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The answer lies in advanced data analytics through Pharma 4.0 applications, using artificial intelligence (AI), to maintain asset reliability and ensure process health. However, putting this technology into action is proving to be a challenge among pharmaceutical companies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"alert alert-warning\" dir=\"ltr\">Despite the challenges in implementation, experience shows that Pharma 4.0 applications can help bring new medicines to market faster<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Research, which surveyed 300 pharmaceutical industry decision-makers in the US, UK, Germany, France, Spain and Sweden, found that 50 % of European and US pharma companies are aware that Pharma 4.0 applications can help bring new medicines to market faster and more effectively. safely, but 96 % face challenges with using technology to get value from their data.
